Snagov natural reserve has two protected areas for their fauna and flora: Snagov Lake and Snagov Forest that surrounds it.

Snagov forest is a remnant part of the immense “Codrii Vlasiei” (Vlasia forest), a huge forest that used to surround Bucharest. The forest is composed of oaks, beeches, linden trees to which animals are added such as deer, pheasants, wild cats and more others. It is a good place to rest, to admire the Mother Nature and also for exploration, either by walking or by bike. 

Snagov Lake spreads on an area of approx. 550 ha and is located at less than 50 Km from Bucharest. The Lake is the deepest lake in the Romanian Plain area, with a maximum depth of 9 meters. It is housing a large biodiversity, formed of many species of fauna and flora, some of them being protected by the law.
